Coming up with ways to make Christmas amazing for a 7 month old baby can be challenging. What does a baby find amazing? Lets be honest, at this point in life baby is amazed by looking at his hand move in front of his face. But this shouldn't stop you from creating memories with your baby. This is a key time for bonding and can be the beginning of beautiful family traditions.
This being David's first Christmas, I had to come up with something extra near and dear to my heart. I love to read and thought what better way to share the time honored tradition of the Advent Calendar than through reading christmas stories with my baby. There are two options depending on your budget. The first will come in around $100-130, and the second will come in under $50.
OPTION 1
Here is what you will need for Option 1 (Approx. $100-130):
Advent Calendar w/Hard Copies of Books
- Wrapping Paper
- 24 Children's Christmas Books
STEP 1:
Take the wrapping paper and wrap all the books individually then label them 1-24.

STEP 2:
Let baby open one book a night to read before bed and enjoy! The following are some of my recommendations for baby books (each under $5):
OPTION 2
Here is what you will need for Option 2 (Approx. $50):
Advent Calendar w/Digital Copies of Books
- DIY or Store Bought Advent Calendar
- Kindle Unlimited Subscription with access to 24 Children's Christmas Books ($9.99/month)
STEP 1:
You could either purchase a pre-made advent calendar or create your own. With either option you will need to select 24 book titles and write them all down on pieces of paper.
STEP 2:
Fill each box or bag with a corresponding paper and book title, let the baby open one each night before bed and enjoy a nightly Christmas story!

That is it for this week's momma post. Let me know if you decide to give this a try. I am so excited to start this new tradition with Baby David!

Thanks for the recommendations! I have a 9 year old and a 2 year old who both love reading. I will be going with the second option. I was able to get a free trial of Kindle Unlimited for the month of December! Thanks again!!
